On February 7th and 8th, the New Philharmonic accompanies pianist Winston Choi performing Ligeti’s piano concerto with Ravel’s Ensemble Dal Niente, AND Rachmaninoff’s Rhapsody on a Theme by Paganini.
But wait…there’s more! The first time I played Rimsky-Korsakov’s “Capriccio Espagnol” was with the Kalamazoo Junior Symphony, under the direction of the late great Herbert Butler with a violin under my chin. And now, under the direction of the Maestro Kirk Muspratt, this will be the first time I will have the privilege to do so on viola! Start February with a dose of classical virtuosity during “Ravel and Rachmaninoff,” at the MAC!
